“We are emcees.  Now, rap is something we do, but hip-hop is something we live…Hip-hop is about community, culture, nation-building.”

– KRS One

From writing his first lyrics at the age of 13, to putting out his first album in 2018, PhearNone’s connection to and love of hip-hop has evolved but never waned.  His major influences include hip-hop pioneers and legends (KRS One, LL Cool J, Black Thought, Nas, Jay-Z, A Tribe Called Quest, Busta Rhymes and Common) and more contemporary artists alike (Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, J. Cole).  While learning and drawing inspiration from these vastly different styles, PhearNone also leverages his background as a musician to create tracks that are a unique blend of thoughtful and witty lyrics, hard-hitting beats, creative vocals and an array of instruments that seek to educate, entertain and tell his story.
